Normal Gets You Nowhere

Let me just be real here- neither will this book. I loved her show. And for the first half of this book it was so blunt and honest I couldn’t put it down. I could not read it fast enough cause I just wanted to take it all in and then make other people go read it. And then- tragically- you get to the middle and it turns into this drag out story about someone she refers to as The Mother and about how she lost her parents and grandparents and it just lost that spunk that the first half had. And then I couldn’t read it fast enough just cause I wanted to be done with it. I am all for people sharing their story, and it was a well written account of her relatives lives and passing in the latter half of the book. It just felt like I had started a different book. I am eventually going to read her first book “If you Have To Cry Go Outside” cause well, I really want that book to be like her show. (Kell on Earth) But this one was a major letdown. I suppose I could just tear off the back chapters and tell people to read it in hopes they wouldn’t ask where that last half is….
